Pyramid experiment produces promising results

Plymouth's road safety team has successfully trialled the use of 'no stopping pyramids' on the yellow zigzags outside schools, in a move to stop parents parking there when dropping off or picking up children.

The trial - at two primary schools- resulted in 33% and 50% fewer people parking on zigzags. The results have been sent to the DfT and the road safety team hopes that temporary traffic orders permitting their use for the trial will be extended to all schools across the city.
