Award winning motorcycle resource now available to RSOs

The campaign that won the Motorcycle Industries Award in the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards 2003 is being made available to RSOs across the UK.

‘Fatal Attraction’ is managed by The Shiny Side Up Partnership, which comprises local authorities in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland.

The Fatal Attraction message is delivered directly to the riders of sports bikes in conventional video or cd format – but using innovative words and images.

Exciting footage from track and on-road riding is combined with a specially commissioned sound track that echoes the bond between rider and machine. There is no authoritarian style or clichéd ‘get trained and ride safely’ messages - instead Fatal Attraction attempts to embrace the unique ethos and passion of the sport. John Reynolds (see pic opposite), currently racing with Team Suzuki and a strong contender for the British Superbike Champion title this season, talks of his love for the sport and the skills that keep him ‘on track’.

The campaign is promoted at Superbike race meetings at Donington Park (see pic below) and has had generous sponsorship from within the sport. Most importantly, riders treat the campaign seriously and respond in a constructive way.

Copies of the video and cd are now available from the producers. "The resource is suitable for road safety practitioners, local motorcycle groups, police and other casualty reduction agencies," says Sheila Ormerod, campaign organiser. "With a running time of eight minutes it is suitable for use as a publicity resource at public events, for individual use at club meetings or in a formal rider-training environment."

It is priced at £13.95 or £19.95 dependent on status. To obtain a copy contact the producers Ferguson Brothers on 0161 723 5398 or shinyvideo@aol.com.
