Hampshire supports Cycle Sense with helmet sale

To help support the Government’s ‘Think!’ Road Safety Cycle Sense campaign, Hampshire’s Road Safety Team is holding a cycle helmet sale between 5-14 March.

The helmets are being offered for sale online at www.hants.gov.uk/roadsafety with a 10 per cent reduction on all models.

The team is also running a poster campaign at a number of locations including Hampshire’s many country parks. The aim of the campaign is to increase cycle helmet wearing rates among children and teenagers in Hampshire.

"The most at risk group among child pedal cyclists is the 12 – 15 age group," said Ernie Sage, Hampshire’s road safety services manager. "This is due to an increase in bike usage at this age and more ‘adventurous’ riding techniques."
