Please close this window to return to the LARSOA news pages FIA and Bridgestone announce summer 2005 campaign The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) Foundation and Bridgestone Tyres have announced plans for a major Europe-wide road safety campaign to be launched in the summer of this year. The RAC Foundation is supporting the UK campaign, which will be launched at the British Grand Prix and rolled out during July. Think! before you drive will set out to save lives and reduce the severity of accidents by reminding motorists of simple steps they can take to enhance in-car safety. The campaign will cover child seats, seat belts, head restraints, and tyre pressure and tread. It will also look at drink drive, speed, drugs and driving, and hand-held phones. As part of the campaign, Bridgestone will print 5,000,000 campaign leaflets and distribute 1,000,000 free tyre pressure gauges. Large quantities of the pocket-sized leaflets and some of the tyre gauges will be made available to RSOs. Further details can be obtained from the RAC Foundation's campaign manager Sarah Forrow, sforrow@racfoundation.co.uk. www.larsoa.org.uk
