Unite on alcohol - TTC

Government departments must work together to combat the widespread problems caused by alcohol, says the TTC Group.

The specialist driver training organisation last week launched a new strategy with the aim of encouraging health, transport and Home Office departments to join forces in the campaign to reduce the impact of alcohol on society.

"We want to encourage the Government to see alcohol as a cross-departmental issue and to tackle its effects in a co-ordinated approach," said TTC Director, Graham Wynn OBE (pictured).

"Alcohol leads to disruptive behaviour in our city centres. More needs to be done to reduce the drink drive statistics and to tackle alcohol consumption, which causes health problems and results in anti social behaviour."

TTC says there also needs to be more education in schools to raise public awareness about the dangers of alcohol.
