Brake launches
hard-hitting DVD for young drivers
The road safety charity Brake has released a hard-hitting
DVD featuring interviews with people who have lost teenage family
members in road accidents.
According to Brake, DfT figures show that while
young drivers make up just one in 10 of all UK licence holders,
one in four driver deaths on UK roads are young drivers.
The DVD, Too Young to Die, features real life stories from
people who have lost family members and friends in road crashes.

One
of those featured is a grieving mother speaking about her son, Aaron
Turner (pictured opposite) from Grimsby, who was killed
by a speeding motorist outside his school five years ago. Sarah
(pictured above) has since become a leading member of Brake and
has campaigned to enforce speed limits.
"How do you choose a coffin for your child? How do you decide
where to have the service and where to have him buried? I wanted
none of these things I just wanted my son back but I couldn't have
him," Sarah says in the DVD.
The DVD is available free of charge to teachers and people who work
with youth offenders. It can be obtained from Brake on 01484 559909
or admin@brake.org.uk.
