Don't drive
tired campaign scheduled for Bank Holiday weekend
Radio advertising and variable message signs highlighting the importance
of not driving when tired will be aired over the coming Bank Holiday
weekend, 28-31 May.
"One in five road accidents on motorways and other monotonous
roads are caused by someone falling asleep at the wheel," says
Think! publicity manager Dawn Lauder. "This latest
driver tiredness campaign focuses on 'microsleeps' that brief
doze that can be fatal. A microsleep lasts between two and 30 seconds
and normally occurs when a driver is tired but trying to stay awake."
