Popular event promotes good practice
Bracknell Forest Borough Council's Road Safety Team worked with the Thames Vale IAM Motorcycle Group and Thames Valley Police to host a safer roads event in Bracknell on 30 April.
The event encouraged motorcyclists to be aware of other road users, speed issues and risk areas, and promoted good riding practice. There were interactive learning exercises, sight tests, a road safety quiz and prize giveaways - including vouchers and a digital radio donated by Panasonic UK.
"This event has become a popular way of reminding motorcyclists and motorists about general awareness on the roads and the potential risks," said RSO Chris Pickett. "It is important that we minimise risks and maximise enjoyment on the road."
Figures reveal that 14 per cent of all casualties on Bracknell's roads are from motorcycle accidents - and 77 per cent of all motorcycle collisions occur at junctions.
