DfT publishes free road safety teaching resource

A free road safety teaching resource for primary school teachers has been produced by the DfT.

The resource provides sample lessons and worksheets for Key Stage 1 and 2 covering Geography, ICT, Literacy, Numeracy, PSHE and Science.

The lessons are designed to meet curriculum targets in each subject area and provide teachers with a forum to discuss aspects of road safety, particularly on the school journey.

The pack provides a selection of lesson plans available electronically at www.databases.dft.gov.uk/lessonplans.

A similar pack for secondary school teachers of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), PSHE, Media and Citizenship will be available in December. In the meantime, further details can be obtained from www.databases.dft.gov.uk/secondary.
