Car dealer
supports taster training sessions in Milton Keynes
RSOs at Milton Keynes Council have launched a new cycle training
taster session - with the help of Myltons Chrysler Jeep. The car
dealership is supporting the scheme by providing a sponsored vehicle
to help deliver the session to schools in the Milton Keynes area.
Levels of cycle training in Milton Keynes have declined in recent
years, but now cycling and road safety officers are trying to reverse
this trend. Over the next couple of months the Council will be offering
taster sessions for pupils, parents and teaching staff
to show them what cycle training can offer.

Initially
the session is being offered to groups of up to 20 students in Year
5. The hope is that schools will then take up the full training
course, which involves five one-hour training sessions on local
roads.
"We are offering these taster safer cycling sessions to make
pupils, parents and teachers aware of the longer training course,
said David Frost, road safety team leader. "To
enable this to happen we need volunteer adult cyclists to train
children, and therefore encourage schools and parents to get in
touch with us to find out more."
Richard Duffill, cycling officer, added: We
are delighted that Myltons Chrysler Jeep has provided a vehicle
to support the launch of these sessions and hope that we will be
able to rely on their continued support as the scheme expands in
the future."
