| Dangers highlighted as parents cross road at child's height The Bedfordshire and Luton Casualty Reduction Partnership recently gave parents the opportunity to experience the challenges faced by a child when crossing the road.
Parents donned kneepads to become three feet tall, and were led across the road by their children, who had been taught about road safety in a special assembly at Great Barford Lower School.
"Although this was a fun event for all involved there was also a serious message," said Caryl Jones, The Partnership's communications manager. "The aim of the day was to influence the attitude of road users, both pedestrians and motorists, to make them aware of the dangers on the roads."
A mobile speed camera van was present in the playground for adults and pupils to look at, and representatives from the Casualty Reduction Partnership distributed information about the dangers of speeding.
