Young cyclists magazine receives official recognition

Cheshire-based magazine, The Zone, produced by the county's road safety unit, has been awarded a commendation as part of the Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards.

Adrian Walsh, director of Roadsafe and the Prince Michael Awards presented the commendation certificate to Justine Hart, senior road safety officer, at a presentation in Chester.

The Zone comes in comic book format and complements the road safety unit's cycle training scheme by aiming to increase the safety of young cyclists aged between 12 and 15. The cartoons, quizzes, puzzles and information have proved popular with other local authorities, who have purchased the magazine.
