Dorset publishes SCP training resource

Dorset County Council's Road Safety Team has produced a DVD to help induct new recruits and provide an overview of the SCP service.

"Starting to STOP provides information on the history of the service, the uniform, the law and the appropriate crossing technique at various types of crossing sites," said Dorset's RSOs Neil Fitch and Rob Camp, who created the resource. "While the resource was initially produced for our own use, we are so pleased with it that we have decided to make it available to colleagues providing a SCP service.

"We think it will help with the training of new patrols, and could also be used as an on-going training and development resource for existing SCPs."

For more information about the DVD, which costs £19.99 plus VAT, visit: www.dorsetforyou.com/scptraining , or contact Neil Fitch or Rob Camp on 01305 224548, or roadsafety@dorsetcc.gov.uk
