Hampshire wins Prince Michael commendation
A significant fall in motorcycle fatalities has earned Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Constabulary a Prince Michael road safety commendation.
There were 10 motorcycle fatalities in the county in 2004, compared to 33 in 2003 and 22 in 2002.
Substantial engineering work and gateway signing has been undertaken on some routes to try and reduce the risk of collision. Other initiatives in the county include Bikesafe and Edge44.
