| No mixed messages in Kingston
Kingston council's road safety and travel awareness unit is working with leaders of its Korean community in a move to highlight road safety issues and promote safer driving.
As a result, posters in English and Korean warning drivers of the dangers of drink driving and talking on mobile phones while driving have gone up across the borough.
"Some cultures are very strict about drink driving while oriental cultures are a bit more generous towards people who do it, because of cultural differences," explained Dr Woo Seung Shin, Korean residents' society chairman. "Most Korean people in our community do speak English but in order to stress the point and catch their eye with these messages, we have made the posters in Korean too."
