| Campaign reminds football fans to stay bright at night
Football fans in Lancashire have been asked to lend their support to help reduce child road casualties across the county.
Supporters attending The Championship Match between Burnley and Derby County on 22 October were reminded of the number of child casualties each year in the latest campaign from Lancashire county council road safety group.
A banner was displayed on the centre circle of the pitch as a reminder of the 4539 children killed on roads nationally last year.
"At this time of year it is important to remember ' Be Safe, Be Seen' by wearing fluorescent clothing during the day and reflective material at night so passing cars can see you," said Clare Farrer , principal road safety adviser. "If we can raise awareness of the ' Be Safe, Be Seen' campaign to families across the county we can work towards reducing child casualties."
In 2003 there were no fatalities, 57 serious and 326 slight injuries in the four to 11 age group in Lancashire.
