Bucks launches seatbelt campaign

Buckinghamshire's road safety team has launched a campaign to encourage drivers and passengers to wear seatbelts.

'Get in the habit' aims to change attitudes and behaviour by reminding drivers and passengers of the importance of belting up before starting a journey.

In a recent four-hour enforcement exercise in the county, 119 people were issued with £30 fixed penalty notices for not wearing a seatbelt. Offenders were invited to attend a seatbelt awareness workshop in lieu of the fine - but just one third took up this option.
