‘Operation STEALTH’ targets two wheeled racers

Motorcycles_stealth
Bikers are being targeted in a crackdown on those ‘intent on using Lincolnshire’s roads as a racetrack’, with marked and un-marked police vehicles patrolling the county’s roads.

A number of roads have been identified, which have a history of collisions and bikers travelling at high speed, and Lincolnshire Police say they are taking a ‘zero tolerance’ approach to speeding throughout the summer campaign. Conspicuous signs have been erected on 12 identified routes, where there will be increased levels of enforcement.

Brian Burns, communications manager, said: “STEALTH is a ‘Specifically Targeted Enforcement Against Law breaking Two-wheeled High-end offenders’.

“This is a crackdown on a minority of bikers who think they are above the law. My message to them is slow down and ride according to your abilities. We care - do you?”
