Course drives home message to pupils

Teenages_course_drives_message_home
More than 700 sixth year pupils from schools across North Ayrshire found out about the dangers of getting behind the wheel at a recent workshop organised by the council’s road safety education team.

‘YDrive’ encourages young people to become safe, responsible drivers, and aims to reduce crashes. Representatives from 10 agencies were involved in the interactive sessions.

Ronnie Small, head of infrastructure & design services, said: "Some youngsters will have had a couple of lessons, while others aren't aged 17 until later in the year. What we're doing is giving them information on what to expect when they start out on a driving career."
