Four bands played songs with an anti drink-drive theme that they had composed during the final of the annual Road Safety Music Challenge competition on 17 November.
The eventual winners were the Abertillery Comprehensive School band, ‘The Really Wild’, with a song entitled ‘The Drunken Journey’. A recording of the song was played at the Christmas drink-drive launch in Caernarfon on 27 November.
The event was funded by a Road Safety Grant from The Welsh Assembly Government, and cash prizes were awarded to those in the first three positions.
