Safety message broadcast straight to mobiles

Drink_driving_fish
The South Yorkshire Casualty Reduction Partnership is using a Bluetooth device to broadcast a drink drive message to hundreds of mobile phone users across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

Steve Betts, communications manager, said: “This is a great way to target specific audiences such as younger drivers who are statistically more likely to drink drive.

“The message will be broadcast from equipment within a police vehicle so as well as the Bluetooth message the police presence will also help promote road safety.”
