Campaign ‘rings in’ New Year

Mobile_phones_county_mayo_New_year
A campaign to highlight the dangers of driving while using a mobile phone has been launched by Mayo County Council in Ireland.

The campaign features a crashed car with a large mobile phone protruding from the window with the message: ‘Be careful how you ring in the New Year’.

Noel Gibbons Mayo’s RSO said: "Driving on Irish roads is dangerous enough without the added risk of talking on the phone at the same time."
