Northern Ireland drink-drive numbers down

Northern Ireland saw a 24% drop in the number of people caught drink driving over the Christmas period - despite a rise in the number of motorists stopped and tested.

Only 477 of 5,500 motorists tested were over the legal limit, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) revealed. 152 fewer people were over the limit compared with 12 months ago, while 114 more roadside tests were performed.
