Phone and seatbelt clampdown in Kent

In_car_safety_Kent_seatbelts
As part of the latest European TISPOL campaign, Kent & Medway Safety Camera Partnership (K&MSCP) and Kent Police are clamping down on motorists caught using a phone or not wearing a seatbelt.

The enforcement will take place at safety camera sites across Kent and Medway, 16-22 February. Anyone spotted using a phone or not wearing a seatbelt will be pulled over by police officers.

Katherine Barrett, communications officer for K&MSCP, said: “Our safety cameras are at locations where people have been killed or seriously injured, so by reducing the number of offences committed at these sites we hope to lower casualties even further. We are not coy about our operations and all the camera locations and statistics can be seen at: www.kmscp.org.”

For further information contact Katherine Barrett.
