THINK! and MTV challenge teens

MTV ADVERT

After the success of the camera phone commercial, which teens helped to film, THINK! and MTV are promoting road safety by challenging teenagers to develop a TV advert.

The whole process - from brainstorming the creative to filming the winning ad - will feature on MTV to highlight the road safety issues among teenagers.

Recruitment spots for the competition commenced on 1 March on MTV, and there's also a new section on the MTV website.

The competition calls for 12-16 year olds to send their ideas for a road safety ad (for pedestrians, cyclists or car passengers) to MTV. These ideas will then be judged by advertising professionals, including the THINK! team. The people submitting the 18 best ideas will be invited to attend a forum with MTV, THINK! and two advertising agencies, Carat and Leo Burnett. They will then be briefed to come up with a concept for an ad.

The teens producing the three scripts judged to be the best will get to film their ads. Their peers will then vote online for their 'favourite' ad - with the winning ad being shown first on MTV.
