Free vouchers spread Valentine’s love

Young_driver_perfect_partner_resized
Lancashire’s road safety team came up with the ideal free Valentine’s gift to help keep loved ones safe.

The ‘Perfect Partner' CD-ROM helps anyone who is planning to take a learner driver out for extra practice sessions. With tips, advice and resources, ‘Perfect Partner’ can help ease the pressures felt by anyone taking up the daunting task of supporting a learner with extra practice sessions.

Part of the ‘Pre Pass Support Scheme’, the resource is designed to help friends and family to structure practice sessions, plan routes and learn how to avoid conflict by communicating more effectively with their learner.

Free gift vouchers offering places on the Pre Pass Support Scheme were also available. The one-day course includes a classroom and on-road session. Learners are also welcome to attend and take part in an interactive session based around improving hazard perception.

Neil Cunliffe, Road Safety Group manager, said: “The gift voucher and CD-ROM are fantastic presents for anyone who is taking up the daunting task of helping learners to practise.

“Helping a learner can be very rewarding but practice sessions can become stressful. The information and advice contained within the Pre Pass Support scheme can help accompanying drivers to be more relaxed and organised during on-road sessions.”
