A new DVD has been launched to help get ‘more people cycling, more safely, and more often’.
Four local authorities have put their knowledge and experience of cycling together to create ‘Do It By Cycle’. The DVD gives cyclists of all levels advice on bike owning and commuter riding - from buying a bicycle and getting out on the road, to useful tips for experienced riders.
Neil Ellison, Stockton Borough Council, said: “Many people who would like to cycle are put off by concerns over dealing with traffic, security, or the apparent technicalities. ‘Do It By Cycle’ aims to address the fears people have and promotes the real benefits of cycling.”
Cheryl Morgan, Cambridgeshire County Council, said: “Our objectives were to update existing cycle training resources, but in the process create much further reaching materials for cyclists of any standard to use at home and in the classroom.”
