Pubs across Lancashire are participating in The Partnership for Road Safety’s summer drink drive campaign, which launches 1 June.

‘Steamed Up’, a short, ‘edgy’ film aimed at younger drivers, will be beamed to Bluetooth enabled mobile phones while people are ordering their drinks.

The film was initially commissioned by Lancaster Alcohol Harm Reduction Partnership and has won several awards for effective communication, and achieved more than three million hits on You Tube. It has been adapted for Bluetooth messaging and can be viewed at www.safe2travel.co.uk

Linda Sanderson, communications manager, said: “This film hits you right between the eyes and will make people think twice about what they order. It will also get people talking about the acceptability of drinking and driving at the very time that it matters – in the pub.”
